    In spring 2021, the association "Biodiversity in the Food Industry" will be founded in Germany. An initiative group consisting of representatives of standards, food companies, associations, NGOs and scientific institutions prepared this initiative in the past two years. Among them some of the largest food retailers and processors in Europe.

    The population of insects in Germany is dwindling - and at an alarming rate. In the project "Insect Responsible Sourcing Regions", the Global Nature Fund is involved in developing solutions for a new culture of insect protection in dialogue with agriculture. The goal is a strategy that proves effective not only at the farm level, but also at the landscape level.     30 November 2020: From 2016 to September 2020 the project consortium of the LIFE Food & Biodiversity project collaborated with the private food sector in Europe to enhance biodiversity protection through food standards and procurement guidelines of food companies. The new Layman’s Report provides an overview of the actions undertaken and impacts achieved since project-start. Even though, the project officially ends, many activities continue.

    New Consumer Goods Coalition to Accelerate Systemic Effort to Remove Deforestation and Forest Degradation from Key Commodity Supply Chains

    As part of Climate Week 2020, The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) officially launches the Forest Positive Coalition of Action, including 17 global consumer goods brands, retailers and manufacturers that will work together and use their collective voice to accelerate systemic efforts to remove deforestation, forest degradation and conversion from the key commodity supply chains of palm oil, soy, and paper, pulp and fibre-based packaging, and drive transformative change across the industry.
