5 December 2022: The signatories of the Frankfurt Declaration, including the Global Nature Fund (GNF), call for a necessary framework for a "nature-positive economy." This includes:

1. internalization of environmental costs: polluters should pay for the social costs of nature and resource use.

2. uniform standards and mandatory biodiversity reporting by companies.

3. immediate dismantling of environmentally harmful subsidies.

4. ensuring deforestation-free supply chains.

5. adoption of the "30×30" target (protect at least 30 percent of land and marine area by 2030) and ambitious restoration targets.

6. inclusion of biodiversity in the "Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda" initiated by the federal government.

The GNF supports these demands. With partners from business and society, it is working in the project "Enterprise Biodiversity" to comprehensively inform the private sector about the importance of biodiversity as well as to support the application of practical tools for an effective management of biodiversity. In other projects, GNF advocates for deforestation-free supply chains, biodiversity protection in global agricultural supply chains and forest protection in financial products.
