The groundbreaking Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) agreement was endorsed by 196 parties during the UN Biodiversity Conference COP15 in December 2022. Aimed at catalyzing worldwide efforts towards biodiversity and nature conservation, it establishes a framework for ambitious actions and policy coherence spanning various economic sectors. It explicitly calls for the alignment of both public and private financial investments with the goal of halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030.
This webinar organised by the Business & Biodiversity Platform, the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation and partners will draw attention to the question of "As we come closer to COP16, has progress been made?". There will be information on the preparation of COP16, with countries in the process of updating their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) following the adoption of the GBF. There will also be room for discussions.
