EBBC - Newsletter March 2019
We are happy to present you the most recent Newsletter of the European Business and Biodiversity Campaign (EBBC).
The FAO published the first global report on the state of biodiversity, providing increasing and disturbing evidence that the diversity on which our food systems are based is disappearing. But the report also shows a growing interest in biodiversity-friendly approaches. We are therefore pleased to present the LIFE Food & Biodiversity training material in this newsletter. With the training materials of the EU LIFE project, we give auditors, advisors and product managers a good overview of very good practices and good biodiversity management, so that they can pave the way for biodiversity-friendly agriculture.
We are also very happy about the work of the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT). In cooperation with the Global Nature Fund (GNF), the standard has produced a guideline for a Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP). BAPs are a way for companies to sustainably use and conserve biodiversity when sourcing natural raw materials.
More interesting news, publications and events will be presented in the course of this newsletter. Enjoy reading!
