Webinar on biodiversity in banana and pineapple cultivation

Webinar on biodiversity in banana and pineapple cultivation

May - July 2020

GNF, Lake Constance Foundation and GIZ (German International Cooperation) conducted the first webinar on biodiversity for agricultural advisors in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic in May 2020. These consultants support cooperatives and plantations for the cultivation of bananas and pineapples. The webinar comprises four modules: The importance of biodiversity for agriculture and the food sector, Biodiversity Management (habitats and species), Very good agricultural practices and the Biodiversity Check Agrícola as a tool to improve the biodiversity performance on the plantation. Besides practical information and concrete examples, the 20 participants had the opportunity to exchange their own experiences. The feedback was positive all round. Due to the great demand, the webinar will be repeated in June and July 2020.
