New publication: "Biodiversity and finance: Managing the double materiality"

The publication presents a set of recommendations for financial institutions to "go beyond regulation" and change ways of thinking and acting about biodiversity - based on scientific evidence and taking into account the vision of a complete restoration of nature by 2050.

12 January 2023: Existing or proposed regulations that impact biodiversity and ecosystems may only force companies to comply, rather than setting in motion the momentum needed to reshape the economy to function within planetary boundaries. If financial institutions are to manage risk comprehensively and play a role in effectively restoring and protecting biodiversity and ecosystems, they must go beyond compliance. The current publication outlines ways in which this can be achieved.
