Strategy for Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy

The strategy identifies what the EU considers to be the most important development areas since the publication of the 2018 Sustainable Growth Financing Action Plan and sets out the strategic priorities and next steps in terms of non/legislative measures in line with the EU Green Deal.

07/13/2021: The EU strategy published on July 06 focuses on four key issues:

1) Financing the real economy's transition to sustainability

2) More inclusive framework for sustainable finance

3) Improving the resilience of the financial sector and its contribution to sustainability

4) Promoting global ambition

The corresponding recommendations are further narrowed down in the annex to the strategy to six action areas with 21 specific outcomes, both regulatory and non-regulatory in nature.

As CRIC presents in a good overview focusing on reactions from civil society organizations, the EU's new Sustainable Finance Strategy meets with a mixed response.
