Global Organic Area Continues To Grow

Over 71.5 Million hectares of farmland are organic. The latest global data on organic farming worldwide is presented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and IFOAM – Organics International.

The positive trend of the past years continues. The demand for organic products continues to increase, organic land is growing and data is now available from 186 countries. This is shown in the latest edition of the study "The World of Organic Agriculture". This statistical yearbook on global organic agriculture is published jointly by FiBL and the World Federation of Organic Agriculture IFOAM - Organics International.

The market research company Ecovia Intelligence puts the global market for organic products in 2018 at over 100 billion US dollars (approx. 97 billion euros). The largest markets are the United States (40.6 billion euros), followed by Germany (10.9 billion euros) and France (9.1 billion euros).
