How does the Climate Change Check work? The handbook presents the Climate Change Check for agricultural enterprises and its results concerning risks and opportunities in agriculture. The method was tested and further developed by the project partners on a total of 126 farms throughout Europe. The Climate Change Check is applicable to the main farm types arable farming, livestock farming and permanent crops in all four European climate risk regions.
Concrete case studies make sustainable adaptation tangibleThe handbook focuses on the concrete case studies of 12 pilot enterprises from all over Europe. Sabine Sommer from the Lake Constance Foundation explains the special features of the case studies: "In addition to the presentation of relevant agro-climatic indicators, we have described the sustainable adaptation measures and the adaptation effects with which they were implemented by the farmers as practically oriented as possible. It was important for us to make sure that our handbook includes farms from the fields of arable farming, livestock farming, fruit growing and viticulture." The main sustainable adaptation measures for these farm types are summarised in a final overview.
The handbook "Farming and Adaptation" is primarily aimed at farmers and other experts from agricultural extension and administration. The handbook as a PDF document, training materials and further information and reports are available free of charge at
