Thomas Beißwenger has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer effective June 1. He was born in 1965, in Stuttgart. During the past 9 years he has worked in different capacities in the Industry Association of Industrial Minerals and Aggregates („Industrieverband Steine und Erden“ – „ISTE“). He has been the first biologist in the no-energy extractive industry. He set priorities in the environmental protection, the resource assurance, public relations as well as the management for the professional group recycling-construction materials, soil and the Quality Assurance Organisation for Recycling Materiales (QRB).
As natural scientist he has broken new ground and has left his mark on ISTE. Two essential examples are the series of the environmental consulting as well as the pilot experiment “Low-conflict lakes”. The idea of the cooperation with NABU also goes back to him. Regarding the public relations he has realized several projects like the exhibition “steine im fluss” in Constance, the “WanderausstellunISTE” and the “Klassenzimmer am See” in Stuttgart near the Lake “Max-Eyth”. Furthermore he was the first in the associations of industrial minerals and aggregates who recognized the strategical meaning of geodata and has established and developed the programm for the administration of property GisInfoService further.
