Matthias Beyer is founder and managing partner of mas|contour, an internationally acting firm operating in the field of sustainable tourism consulting, regional development and change management.
He is a fully qualified graduate of the hotel business and graduate engineer in landscape planning (with focus on sustainable tourism planning). After his studies he worked for several years as a freelance consultant in national and international tourism projects. In 2005 he founded the Berlin based consulting firm mas|contour Tourism Consulting & Regional Planning (www.mascontour.info) which is specialised in sustainable tourism development and has already successfully implemented about 70 projects in more than 30 countries.

He is a member of BEST Education Network, of the academic advisory board of Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND e.V.) – German branch of Friends of the Earth – as well as of further organizations.
