Sector-specific Activities
From the second half of 2010 until the end of 2012 business advocates will organise "Biodiversity
Taster Workshops” for five different business sectors (e.g. food, finance, tourism, extractive, construction),
followed by three in-depth sector
specific information seminars. The workshops offer the opportunity to collect and share experiences in relation to the use and
conservation of biodiversity management with colleagues from your respective business sectors and other selected experts.
On the corporate level, the campaign consortium will offer basic
biodiversity assessments ("Biodiversity Check") which provide an
indication on the companies dependence and impacts on biodiversity and
ecosystem services.
These sector-specific campaign activities are based on a
business-to-business approach and will be supported by the campaign
consortium. This will guarantee an intensive exchange
of
information on pressing topics, high relevance for business operations
and sector specific solutions.
Goals:
Business advocates will share their experience in
biodiversity management within their respective business sectors.

Companies including small and medium-sized enterprises and business associations from a variety of different industries with direct impacts and/or dependance on biodiversity and ecosystem services (e.g. food, finance, tourism, extractive, construction) as well as companies from industry sectors with only indirect interdependence via the supply chain e.g. electronics industry.
