Self-Check –Potentials for Biodiversity-Oriented Design of Company Premises

This checklist is designed to help companies initiate nature-oriented design actions on their premises. It is intended to help in collecting relevant documents and information. This conducts an initial assessment regarding potentials for biodiversity-oriented design as well provides suggestions for first steps towards biodiversity-oriented design.

In the course of the project "Nature/Biodiversity-oriented Design of Company Premises”, this guide manual was developed. This is based on the practical experience in the implementation of nature-oriented design on company premises.

The topic of the Green Week 2014 that took place in Brussels from June 3 to 5 was “Circular Economy, Resource Efficiency & Waste”. In another session, a speech on natural capital accounting was given. New Baseline Report 2014: Biodiversity in Standards and Quality Labels of the Food Industry
The Lake Constance Foundation and the Global Nature Fund have checked 19 national and international standards and labels for the food industry in their study. The focus of the research was the question how far the existing biodiversity criteria really tackle the critical points and where urgent action in the development of the labels and standards is needed.
