For the first time, the latest Corporate Biodiversity Management Handbook offers enterprises a practical tool for comprehensively and directly implementing a biodiversity management system.
Business and biodiversity is systematically dealt with from a business perspective, while definite fields of action for corporate biodiversity management are outlined. With its clear and practical orientation, the handbook offers a direct introduction to the topic and enables intuitive implementation of the concrete recommendations into business practice. A set of checklists and numerous best-practice examples from the Initiative members provide an excellent guide through the methods and tools of biodiversity management.
At the first international conference Global Business of Biodiversity Symposium on 13th July, the ‘Biodiversity in Good Company' Initiative presented its handbook at the thematic session on management tools, thereby actively contributing to the international exchange on biodiversity management methods. The conference focussed explicitly on the corporate world and their interest in preserving biodiversity and was the ideal arena to present the handbook's biodiversity management analysis and solutions approach. Because of its direct approach and practical orientation, the delegates from the political, economic and NGO sectors as well as business representatives showed a strong interest in it – using it as a springboard to discuss the latest topics and methods in corporate biodiversity preservation.
