Japan Business Initiative for Conservation and sustainable use of Biodiversity (JBIB)

The Japanese business and biodiversity initiative of the host country of the UN COP 10 conference.

Japanese companies interested in promoting their contribution for the environment and society have launched the Japan Business Initiative for Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity (JBIB) on 1st April 2008. As of 15th September 2009, the JBIB had 27 private companies of diverse industrial sectors as members. JBIB has two working groups, the Research and Development (R&D) working group, and the Communication working group. These groups currently prepare the JBIB activities towards the CBD/COP10 conference at the end of 2010.
