Heinz Sielmann Foundation
The Heinz Sielmann Foundation aims to protect nature and raise public awareness for its beauty. All actions are oriented along the basic principle of sustainability. The different projects focus on the conservation of natural resources while taking over the responsibility to strive for a future worth living for.


Co-operation Partners


Our Campaign liaises with the European B @ B Platform. The Platform aims at supporting businesses in six different sectors integrating biodiversity into their core activities. These sectors are: agriculture, forestry, food supply chain, tourism, the extractive industry and the financial sector.
In an effort to maximize the excellent synergy potential in tackling this task together, the ‘European Business and Biodiversity Campaign' works closely together with this partner. A joint newsletter is published bimonthly with the editorial responsibility alternating between the EBBC and the ‘Biodiversity in Good Company' Initiative.
Quercus - National Association for Nature Conservation
The EBBC collaborates with the Portuguese NGO in promoting the Business and Biodiversity issues in Portugal through the exchange of expertise and in the organization of joint workshop.
The Association of the German Sport Goods Industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie e.V., BSI) signed with the Global Nature Fund, the international foundation for the protection of environment and nature, a cooperation agreement as part of the European Business and Biodiversity Campaign (EBBC). Goal of the agreement is to sensitise companies in the sport goods industry about the importance of biodiversity and its role as the natural capital of the economy.
Corporation 2020 describes in pragmatic terms the corporation’s path of transformation from today’s cost externalizer to tomorrow’s value optimizer. It envisions the necessary milestones we must meet and explains their timeline. It presents new research on how to deliver tough solutions which cut across the spaces of policy, self-regulation, and legislation- including disclosing corporate externalities, setting limits to corporate leverage, replacing taxes on corporate profits with resource taxes on extraction, and setting ethical standards in advertising.
ECNC
To give the private sector insight into their performance regarding biodiversity and an instrument to communicate this performance to the outside world, ECNC- European Centre for Nature Conservation and Middlemarch Environmental Ltd. have developed the European Biodiversity Standard. In 2012 GNF and ECNC signed a Memorandum of Understanding which defines the basis for collaboration regarding the development and implementation of "Biodiversity Checks for Companies” and the European Biodiversity Standard. For details click here.

The goal of TEEB for Business Coalition is to achieve a shift in corporate behaviour to preserve and enhance rather than deplete our natural capital. To achieve this, the Coalition brings together global stakeholders in an open source platform to study and standardise methods for natural capital accounting to enable its valuation, management and reporting in business.

Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO)
BEDO is a public organization from Thailand, created in 2007. With the ultimate goal to create employment, income, and opportunities for local communities, BEDO aims to promote the management of biodiversity resources utilization for economic purposes, to encourage sustainable conservation of biodiversity and to spread local wisdom at community to national level.
