The Company Biodiversity Advocates are actively involved in the EBBC. Supported by the campaign consortium and using a business to business approach, the advocates share their experiences in biodiversity management within their respective sectors.

A Company Biodiversity Advocate contributes to the campaign by:

  • Hosting a European "Taster Workshop” for large and / or SME companies of its industry sector. The Advocate will present experiences and best practices in relation to the use and conservation of biodiversity. The workshop venue will provide the opportunity to experience biodiversity (e.g. through an excursion or interactive activities linked to biodiversity).
  • Providing input to the development and implementation of a basic biodiversity assessment ("Biodiversity Check”) which will provide an indication on a company's dependence and impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services. These checks will be offered by the campaign consortium to interested companies.
  • Providing speakers for in-depth seminars and events about the opportunities to integrate biodiversity concerns into corporate management systems.
  • Announcing and promoting the campaign and its main activities.
